Thanks to those that came out and especially those that helped out throughout the day.

Here are the official results. If you see any discrepancies, please let me know. And if your times are crossed out, you missed marshalling stints, so don't complain about those - the rules were clearly stated at the driver's meeting. Next event will have a worse punishment for those who choose not to respect marshalling duty. Seriously.

The times are raw, and do not automatically include penalties. We are looking to update this soon.

Also, if you are series registered, and your points are crossed out, let me know. I don't have an accurate list of who is series registered or not. Thanks.

Hey Bryan, I've received some complaints from a few competitors who went to John S. (head marshal) after each of their runs and were told some times on multiple occasions that they didn't have to Marshall after that particular round. But as a result they have had their times crossed out for not marshaling even thought they were told they did not have to. Because there have been multiple people asking me about why they had their times crossed out I know that it's not an isolated incident.

Do you know if our chief Marshall kept track of every person who came up to him after their run? Even if they were told that they were not needed to Marshall? Or only the people that he actually sent out to stations?

Thankx

I removed runs based on what I see on the marshall list. There shouldn't be any exceptions except for who I indicated at the beginning and maaaybe on the last run group when the event was coming to a close. But aside from that, the rules for marshalling were made very clear at the driver's meeting, so I don't see an issue here.

If there was a breakdown in communication amongst the organizing team, then that's something we'll have to address at future events. But to try and figure out what happened at Saturday's event will just make it more confusing. I'm still having a hard enough time figuring out the 'numbers' from Saturday.

results are updated with penalties.

does anyone have a preference between these two marshaling systems:

1 - marshal after each run for a total of 6 marshal sessions. these are usually much shorter sessions with lots of rotation.
2 - marshal once for an entire run group. with almost 100 cars, each run group would take 45 mins to 1hr

With 92 drivers, the run groups wouldn't have worked as well - slow changeover and less runs for the day. It's a game day choice and no one really knows what will happen. And it's not a matter of preference - it's a matter of what will work to make the event run smoothly.

So let me go through the results for a fourth time and try to figure this out. I've have the "compliants" so I'll look into it.

Bryan, what I think Ken is saying is that the marshall list may not be accurate, in that if some people might not have done all their marshalling stints because someone told them they didn't have to, but that might not be communicated properly on the list itself. So if Joe Schmoe only shows that he marshalled twice, because the next 4 runs he was told not to worry about it, maybe it's not noted next to his name that he was exempted?

I've spoken to John about it, and as I said, I'm looking into it. And yes, I know exactly what Kenny/you are talking about. It's an organizational oversight that we will be addressing for future events. The results will stay as posted until I have a chance to update the files.
