Hey guys, my Tivo's up for sale. I've gone Windows Media Center and it works great for my XBOX360 laden house. :)

Anyhow I'm pretty sure my Tivo's sporting 120hrs recording time, I will verify. Worked great for many years and now you can get Canadian Listings for it. But the beauty here is, lifetime subscription,it's a grandfathered service as now Tivo only offers a monthly subscription. So Lifetime units are in high demand.

They sell for $250 on Ebay with regularity. I also have a Network adapter for it which I'll also include. I also have the original TiVo HDD in case something happens with the upgraded ones (the one I did have in there years ago went bad, so I have replaced the drives once already in there).

There's also some PC Software (free from Tivo) that lets you watch video from your tivo on your computer and/or burn DVDs from it and apparently you can now also watch video from your computer on your Tivo. Also the software will recompress to playback on your ipod or PSP or whatever.

BTW, even if you already have a PVR... nothing out there can touch TiVo. Truely excellent device with a great and intuitive remote and user interface.

Also for those who might not know... you can control satellite boxes and cable boxes with this. It uses IR to change the channel on the target source.

Much more info on their site.

BTW, new Tivo from Futureshop is $200. But that's without a lifetime subscription and less recording time. That said, they do come dual tuner now. Both are Series 2 units, so the featureset is the same.

Does it have a tuner inside? Can it work with the Rogers tuner box? Have a PVR in the living room, but am thinking of putting this in the bedroom. Wanted an Apple TV for the bedroom, but content sux monkey balls on iTunes right now. :(

It does have a tuner but it can not tune digital cable (none of them can.. only in the USA with a CableCard service). I don't know what the Rogers Tuner Box is, but assuming it's simply Rogers Digital Cable box it should work. Looking at forum postings on the Tivo site, it does appear that there's a lot of Rogers listings, so you should be good to go.

BTW... I assure you, (unless you're stuck on HD sources) you'll replace your living room one with the TiVo in short order.

I don't know how the cable and sat companies have't built a superior system given all the years Tivo's been around (and largely unchanged), but they haven't.

How much adult content comes preloaded on the Tivo? :p

Tempting, but I don't think I can hook it up. I'm pretty sure I can only run component with my current set-up.

Yeah, SVideo and Component only.

But, I don't know an HDTV in existence that doesn't still have SD connections though. Both my projector and LCD have all that.

Think I want to keep the HD in the living room. Bedroom has a boob tube, so less important. Let me pick it up for a test drive for a week and if she works well for us I'll email you da $$$$. :D
