I bought a set of koni sports shocks with springs and the spring rates are in metric. One set has 0700.2.50.010 and the other has 0700.2.50.008.I am assuming this is metric and dont know how to convert it to imperial.I think the 2.50 is the diameter and the 0700 is the length and the last numbers are the spring rating. Can anyone tell me how to convert those numbers to imperial?

I think I figured it out.566 lbs for the .010 and 453 lbs for the .008.
I am using them on a 89 civic. Can anyone tell me if 0700 springs are too short?

Actually, i believe it's 700lbs/in and the .008 is 8" and the .010 is 10"

In this case, the 8" should be the fronts and the 10" should be the rears - those lengths should work fine if you have the correct adjustable bottom perch mounts.

Hmmm - now that I think of it - are both springs the same length or do they really measure 8" and 10"?

700 is the length, 250 is the diameter. Generally Eibach springs have the rate in lb/in for the last number, but is it possible they used metric markings (in this case) for certain branding? Supposedly the Eibach GC springs are marked in metric - link (http://tampabay.dsm.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2065).
Wait, these are Eibach springs, right?

Okay,I will run this by you guys and let me know if you think I am right. The springs have 0700.2.50.010 and .008.I think the 0700 is the length because i measured both sets and they are 7" long. The 2.50 is the inner diameter because both sets measure 2.5 inches. The last 3 numbers must be the spring ratings and they shouldnt be metric because the other two measurments are imperial. So I think the .008 is 800lbs and the .010 is 1000 lbs. These spring ratings are huge and dont think I want something like that, not sure what that would do to my car and shocks.BTW the make is obx and I researched obx coils and found nothing but bad reviews about them so I think I will change them. What is a good spring rating starting point for my 89 civic. The car is relativley stock with urathane bushings and koni yellow shocks.

Looks like a mix of imperial and metric which means you have 440 (008) and 550 (010) lbs/in springs.

fyi, if the middle number is 250 and not 2.50, the final number is in lbs/in - that is a messed up part numbering scheme...

The middle number is 2.50.Thanks for the help, those spring rates seem a little more reasonable.
Now I have another question. When I lower the car that will put my camber at a negative? This is a dedicated track car so would it be wise to get a camber kit for front and rear or just leave it and see how it handles.I am thinking I will wear out my tires on the inside quicker and also on another site I was told that when a civic corners the double wishbone suspension puts the wheels at a negative camber anyways?Any help would be great?Another website says that I should use a higher spring rate on the rear and lighter on the front.Dont know if I agree, what do you guys think?
