Figured Todd, Scott and Moose should have something to say about it.
Want you to meet Peter Lucas. He's our newest member and asked for advice on setting up his car. Mac Struts are kind of new to me, so I figured I'd put it out to the experts. Right now he's running 18" rims and wants 16" for track use. Would 17's be better? What brand? TD's? Koseis?
Has anyone tried offset tire/rim sizes with any success? I love our 15X8 225s with 15X7 205s rears on our ek.
What camber and alignment do you suggest? Know you need more with a Mac strut. Also what about spring rates. Know they're higher than DWB.
What's a nicely balanced Sway bar do you suggest?
Moose is the man as far as the 8th gen goes, he's learned a lot lately and he's known as one of the gurus on the 8th gen forum (there's lots of info over there if you listen to the right guys, Moose being one of them) Go right to the suspension & brakes or Auto-x forums...
http://www.8thcivic.com/
We really couldn't tell you what to do with a stock car and off the shelf parts... check out our race cars this season and you'll see what I'm talking about. Now if you're willing to redesign the entire suspension to out in a coilover, chop out the rear wheelhouses, design your own mounts, arms and such and have them machined...
BTW, 17's are probably the way to go considering all the takeoffs from CCTCC (which is the perfect size for Civic (235-40-17) and that 16's are often more expensive and less common. We love our Enkei RPF-01's (17x8)

Is it a sedan or coupe?
Also, would anything smaller than 17" even fit over the brakes?
Yup, 16's fit (some do, some don't, so you have to be careful) the factory EX/LX 16" steel or alloy wheels are a great choice for winters...

Alignment:
Get Two Ingalls "Crash Bolts kits (4 bolts) and dial in as much camber as possible in the front ... about -1.75-2.0
These cars NEED Boat-loads of static negative camber to work right (I may have two sets (brand-new) available after next weekend)
Get a Ingalls or Skunk two rear camber arm and dial OUT about 0.5 -1.0 degree of camber (to about - 1.25) ...OE has TO much camber and it gains camber under-load (unlike the front)
16's are nice ...but trying to find the right rubber (size and aspect ratio) to fit is a bit of a pain ... 17's allow for a 235-40-17 which is a PERFECT fit for the Si ... with the right offset rim ... 42-45mm on a 17x8 ... don't go with an staggered setup..same size all arround
Spring rates ...does he have OE suspension of coil-overs ?. Due to the poor rear spring motion ratio you need a BIG rear spring rate stagger ...
Swaybar ... progress 22mm is a nice upgrade for the car ... works well with OE springs

If this is his first year learning to drive in autoslaloms and/or the track I suggest keeping the car close to stock. Money is better invested by taking track schools to upgrade the driver before upgrading the car.
Track worthy pads, an extra set of wheels and RA1 tires are a good investment. So are the parts Moose suggested to increase negative camber to improve performance and prolong the life of the tires.

Good day all, thanks for your advice I agree with many of the suggestions.
Glad to finally be part of HADA and look foward to my first year.
I was at the track day held at Dunnville this past weekend and had a blast.
Here is some footage of Miles taking my coupe around the track.
I have much more, if you were there I probally have footage of your car.
Let me know and I'll post more video.

Moose, if available, I would be interested in those Ingalls camber bolts.

If you have any pics or video of the silver RSX I would be curious to see it.

I think you're about to get a reply from everyone asking for everything... :p
Anything with my Del Sol in it?

I believe that I do, I will post some more up this weekend. Maybe just start a new thread for the video and pics.
I used to own a 02 drove it since new, great car.
DC5 vs. FG2 they both have their individual strengths, love the L.S.D. I have now.
But the E-throttle could be more responsive.

O.K. I post a few more random Vids and Pics.
But the best thing from a quality perspective is I'll burn it all to D.V.D. and at the next event if you want a copy just hit me up.
Does anyone know of a hosting site that does not compress the crap out of vids without charging you a membership fee?
Hi Peter,
I will know this weekend about the crash bolts.
I am installing a coil-over setup on my Si on Sunday and I am 95% sure that I can dial in enough camber with the existing top mounts.
If I do not need them, I will let you know and you can grab them off me ... They are brand-new ... I will let them go for what I paid for them ...about $40+ tax

Thanks Moose, that’s fair, let me know next week.
What type of Coilovers are you planning to install?
