Hello,
I am considering getting a set of used wheels, where the clear coat is comming off. They are some nice old school BBS wheels for my MINI S. My Acura runs the OEM wheels :P.
Anyone have any idea where a good inexpensive wheel repair shop?
So far i called, wheel Fix, Carcone's and Precision Rim Repair.
Thanks.

I had my Volks repaired at Precision Rim Repair, a minor minor bent lip and off axis, he did a good job, I was happy with the fix. Though it costed me around 150 IIRC. Perhaps forged wheel costs more than other types of wheels. But shop claims that they fix Ferarri and Porches wheels so I thought a Volks is a walk in the park for them.
No paint was involved, because bronze Volks has a special type of paint finish and I didn't want them to polish the lips, so they fixed the wheel with no paint removal on other parts of the wheel.

I think there's a place called Wheel Wizards. I see their orange truck around a few times each summer.

Looks like a very thorough DIY project.

I used Precision Rim Repair. He took a little material off the edges to give it a Polished Lip look, then put a a couple of extra clearcoats on for me.
I was quite pleased.

^ That's what he wanted to do with mine, take some material off so it will end up with a polish lip but I said no, so he managed as well.

In my case, it was my request. I didn't want to repaint them to look like plain stock gold rims again. He can do either.

What surprised me was he fixed the bent lip without polishing the edge and neither did he use new paint.
Some skill.
