I am planning on making it out for this with my CRX.

I am wondering if I can bring my 9 year old son along with me in the car during runs? Is that possible?

Thanks.

Hey Darren:

According to the CASC-OR rulebook:

3.2.10. Passengers
Non minor passengers may be carried anytime provided they have read & signed the appropriate waivers. Minors (14 years of age & under) can ride as a passenger but are subject to the following requirements;
May not ride in competition, only in lapping or fun runs.
The helmet and seatbelt must both fit the minor correctly
The seatbelt must comply with the Solo II regulations (see Section 5.3)
Provided they have the consent of the organizer and they and their Parent/Guardian have signed the Underage Waiver (a different waiver than for adults). Minors must be at least 9 years old to ride and must comply to the manufacture’s suggested guidelines as far as the minimum weight/height for cars equipped with air bags.Passengers must wear the same, or better, safety equipment as required for the driver and must keep their hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times. We do have the minor waver on site. But unfortunately your son can't ride along during the "competition". Sorry, Darren.

No problem Bryan, he's only coming by at approx. 2pm, so I'll get him in for some fun runs.

See you Sunday!!

Odd... why was i told i couldn't bring my son to lapping and autox fun runs in the past? wasn't someone else also denied for the same reason (i think he drove a miata)? Its possible the Solo1 rules were being used for the lapping, but i'm sure i asked about autox.

If this is actually allowed, i am gonna see if my son wants to go for a fun run this Sunday :D

Dave, he has to be 9 years old minimum.

I find it odd that a 9 yr. old has to sign the waiver....good luck having any court in this country recognize it!!!

Keith, I don't think they sign the waiver - the parent/guardian has to sign it, on their behalf. Or something.

Dave, when did you encounter that? If it was at PITTL, they had a rule that no one under 18 was allowed on the course, during the competition or fun runs. I believe that was something created by GO, though. And I know which Miata guy you're talking about too.

18 yrs limit was created by GO.

FYI, the new rules should also state that BOTH parents must sign the parental release form to allow the child to ride along. Painful I know, but 'dem's the rulez.

Bryan,
Thank you for the co-drive for the last two events.

and for those of you that were not there...the margin of victory for the shootout winner was, after 2 combined runs,
0.009 secs

and IIRC the diference between 3rd and 4th was a tenth or 2

good times

Shane, any time. Yesterday was a lot of fun - really cool to see my Civic go that fast.

Thanks HADA staff/volunteers for a great series! I'll be back next year for sure!!

Jon, it was great to meet you. You should consider joining HADA - you would fit in well here. You'd definitely add to the knowledge pool.

What was up with my points? (Car 102)

A few weeks ago I got a 12 at the rain AutoX. Now its a 10.

This last event was a great one. The quick flowing track was a joy to navigate. I can't wait till next season.

Val:

Julian's car was misclassed (should be 4 but was put in 2 a few times) so when I redid some of the results, I missed yours (left it at 12) but corrected it later on. That event (in particular) had a lot of cars that had to be moved around or corrected and I missed a few things here and there.

Ask David (nrg3k) how many times I have to re-send the results because I keep missing stuff. :o

No problem. I made up for it by getting a 12 the real way yesterday. :D

Great work guys. I've come to love the atmosphere at your events.

Thanks for a great year. I found the HADA events to be some of the best I attended this year. I really like the classing system that makes sure there are actually people in your class to run with.
