I got to questions, I'm going to be doing my First even this saturday.
1) on the form to fill out it asks for two signatures (driver and owner) I'm the driver and owner of my car, but the cars in a Parents name. do I sign both lines, or do I need to get my mother to sign it so the sheet matchs the ownership?
2) I have a Snowmobile helmet (HJC CL12) is that ok to use??
one last thing... Will I be the first G8 GT to enter one of these?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think technically you need your mother to sign since she's technically the owner. I've competed with my wife's car and signed on her behalf though - but I did pay for the car so... :p
Bring the helmet. If it's a snell 2000 or up you have no issues. If not, there will be loaner helmets there so you're covered either way.
There's a list of all the results on the autoslalom page. Haven't been to an event this season yet, but they are popular cars, so would imagine someone is running one.

is Snell a brand, or a rating system? (like D.O.T.)

According to this site, that helmet is Snell M2000 rated which is the minimum requirement for autoslalom in Ontario. To confirm that your helmet is sufficient, you can check under the lining on the inside, there will be an M2000 sticker.

Technically, you need your mother's signature.
The reality is, I can't recall ever having to show the ownership of my car at any Autoslalom or SoloSprint event. Driver's license on a rare occasion, yes.
So, if you hadn't said anything, you likely wouldn't have been asked on Saturday. ;)
FYI: ORRC Nav Rally checks for vehicle ownership, insurance, driver's license, safety triangle and red cross card all of the time.

^^ From Ryan's link, your helmet looks fine. Snell is one of the rating systems used for helmets. Your M2000 will be good till 2011. Rally racers use a different system which in theory is safer than the Snell system but not all organizations recognize it. Know in solosprints there was an issue about it a few years back.

Well, they accept FIA Helmet certifications. We're supposed to accept them as well in SoloSprint and Autoslalom as well, but they aren't well known by our scrutineers.
BTW, those requirements are for NAVIGATIONAL RALLY. Open roads, in traffic, no helmets, below the speed limits. And the organizational requirements are stricter than 'slalom and SoloSprint. :D It's annoying the first couple of times, but you get used to it.

thanks guys.
I pulled my helmet out of summer storage, and got a signature on the sheet, I should be good to go :)

quick question, Do I need to refill out the entry sheet, or would my sheet from last time still be in your records and valid?

We still have your registration sheet, so you just have to sign it when you show up. See you Sunday - bring an umbrella. :D
